WVU Baseball Releases Fall Ball Schedule

The West Virginia University baseball team is looking to build on the program’s first appearance in a super-regional tournament last season and usher in a new era of Mountaineer baseball.

The program announced its fall schedule on Thursday, featuring three intrasquad games before closing out the program with the Toronto Mets of the Canadian Premier Baseball League.

Steve Sabins took over the program at the end of the 2024 baseball season after Randy Mazey retired.

Mazey built the program into a contender for the Big 12 Conference, winning its first national title in 2023.

Sabins promised the program will build on the foundation laid by Mazey, his staff and the players who wore the old gold and blue.

Sabins joined the program in 2016 after a four-year stint at Oklahoma State. Over the past nine seasons, he has played a key role in the program’s success, including four NCAA Tournament selections.
