Police charge alleged burglar at Ajax

Durham police say a suspect who allegedly spied on Ajax residents has been charged with burglary.

Officers responded to multiple reports of a burglar in the area of ​​Georgina Drive and Brooks Road shortly after 9 p.m. on September 3.

According to police, a man entered the gardens of several homes to watch the residents through the windows.

After officers searched the area with the K-9 unit, a suspect was found.

Police said on Thursday that 53-year-old George Cleius, of Whitby, has now been charged with two counts of loitering, four counts of surreptitiously observing a person in the expectation of privacy, and criminal harassment.

He was released by order of a court.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact detectives.
