Our Services at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Specialty Pharmacy:

Our pharmacists and technicians provide specialized medications that are not generally available in pharmacies. Before you receive your medication, we will discuss with you, your family members or caregivers how to administer injections and other medications at home.

Our pharmacists and their teams offer:

  • Specialty medicines: We have access to specialist medicines for complex, chronic conditions. Our team works closely with your healthcare providers to ensure you get the right medicines, in the exact dosages and forms you need.
  • Patient education and training: Before you receive your medications, our pharmacists will help you understand your medications. We’ll talk you through what to expect, including how the medications work, how to give injections and other medications, what to do if you miss a dose, and how to manage side effects. We’ll teach you how to safely store and dispose of medications, sharp objects (such as needles and devices that can pierce the skin), and other materials to keep them away from children and pets.
  • Help with health insurance: Our team will help you navigate the health insurance process and find ways to pay for your medications. We’ll help you understand your plan’s coverage, obtain prior authorizations, and find assistance programs to make your medications more affordable.
  • Home delivery of medicines: We can deliver your medications to your home throughout Maryland and most states.

Specialized team

All of our specialty pharmacists are Doctors of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) with advanced training in medicine and patient care. Our pharmacists have additional expertise in a variety of medical specialties. When you call or visit us, you will speak with a knowledgeable pharmacist who thoroughly understands the medications you are taking for any condition.

Coordinated care

As part of your care team, we communicate with you and your caregivers through our secure electronic health record (EHR) system. Our specialized pharmacists meet regularly with our patients’ care teams. We communicate more frequently, as needed, with your caregivers to manage your care.

Personalized services

We provide ongoing support to help you get the most out of your treatment plan. Our team takes the time to understand your specific symptoms and show you how to manage your medication regimen. We provide counseling and education to help you complete your therapy. With a compassionate approach, we take care of the details so you can focus on your health and quality of life.
