La Farge Library is closed all weekend due to power outage

Aug. 9 – The La Farge Branch Library, 1730 Llano St., will remain closed all weekend after lightning struck a nearby transformer, knocking out power.

The lightning strike occurred during Thursday afternoon’s storms and the library was closed for the entire day Friday, according to a city news release. “Santa Fe City Facilities staff are on scene,” the release said.

No other buildings were affected by the outage, city spokeswoman Regina Ruiz said. While the library was originally expected to reopen Saturday, city officials announced Friday afternoon that it would remain closed through the weekend.
