David and Victoria Beckham recreate ‘iconic’ wedding photo 25 years later

David Beckham and his wife Victoria Beckham have thrilled fans by recreating their iconic wedding photo.

The soccer icon and former Spice Girl went back in time as they celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. They tied the knot on July 4, 1999 in a fairytale ceremony at Luttrellstown Castle near Dublin. Victoria looked stunning in a floor-length satin Vera Wang gown, reportedly worth $100,000.

David also opted for an all-white outfit, as he rocked a matching white cravat. The famous duo even made a dramatic outfit change as they donned matching purple Antonio Berardi looks to cut the cake. To celebrate their anniversary, David and Victoria recreated their iconic purple outfits in a new photoshoot.

David wrote on their Instagram accounts: “Look what we found…” It’s unclear whether the outfits are original to their big day, but Posh and Becks both looked exactly the same as they did 25 years ago. In the new photo, the couple lie on thrones while holding hands.

Victoria updated the look with a pair of silver stilettos that tied her calves and wore her long brunette locks in loose waves. In 1999, the fashion designer cut her hat short while David debuted his fresh highlights. Now, David has a lot more tattoos and a lot less blonde streaks in his hair.

Fans went wild for the couple recreating their iconic look, with one commenting: “Too cute!!!! So amazing. I’ve always loved those wedding outfits – they still look amazing!” Another added: Look as good now as they did then iconic.” Someone else commented: “Iconic! I remember this like it was yesterday!” A fourth wrote: “Victoria is always beautiful and elegant, while David always has that infectious smile. The true royal couple.”

The football star recently admitted he wasn’t too keen on the purple look, telling Radio 4’s Desert Island Discs: “I look like the guys from Dumb & Dumber when they went to that party and wore those ridiculous outfits. I even had a top hat in purple. Unbelievable. What was I thinking?”

Just months before David and Victoria exchanged their vows, they had just become parents to their eldest son Brooklyn, born in March 1999. They insisted that the big day would be an “intimate” affair, but they didn’t hold back in adding a touch of luxury. Their big day was The theme was Robin Hood and the decorations revolved around deep greens, purples and burgundy, with apples and ivy incorporated where possible.

The couple sold their marital rights to OK! magazine for £1million – breaking all previous records for celebrity photoshoots. David turned up in a £230,000 Bentley Azure, while Victoria had a bespoke diamond and gold crown made by Slim Barret, who had previously styled accessories for Princess Diana.

During the three-course meal, an 18-piece string orchestra played renditions of the Spice Girls chart-toppers before cutting the cake. This was followed by speeches from loved ones and then the couple had their first dance to Frank Sinatra’s It Had to Be You.

The guest list remained “intimate” with just 29 guests as they exchanged vows. In addition to their newborn Brooklyn, David’s parents and sisters were also there, as well as his teammate and best man, Gary Neville, while Victoria had her parents and siblings, as well as Spice Girls Emma Bunton, Mel C and Mel B.
