St. John’s ‘No Room for Hate’ rally takes place Sunday amid growing LGBTQ concerns

Today a demonstration will take place in St. John’s with the theme ‘No Room for Hate’.

The rally was originally scheduled for Friday but was postponed due to weather conditions.

Organizer Sarah Worthman says the rally is meant to show support for the LGBTQ community, which is facing an “unprecedented increase” in hate.

According to Worthman, support for the community is dwindling across the country. She says that in order to have a chance to combat the hate and ensure their rights are not rolled back, they need other people to support them.

The demonstration will take place at 11:30 am in Harborside Park in the center of the capital.
