3 questions for Boston Bruins

3 questions for Boston Bruins

NHL.com will be providing in-depth analysis of the rosters, prospects and fantasy players for each of the 32 teams from August 1 through September 1. Today, three big questions for the Boston Bruins.

1. Who plays on the second line on the right wing?

With half of the offseason now over, the Bruins already have a very good idea of what their top six could look like, with newly acquired Elias Lindholm at center, Pavel Zacha and David Pastrnak, and Charlie Coyle sandwiched between Brad Marchand and… a big hole.

While the Bruins made a significant upgrade with the arrival of Lindholm, whom they’ve wanted for nearly two years, a void has opened up on the second line at right wing after Jake DeBrusk signed a seven-year deal with the Vancouver Canucks.

There are options to fill the position internally, preferably with a talent like Fabian Lysell or Georgii Merkulov, but also with a player previously expected to play further up the lineup, such as Morgan Geekie or even a surprise like Justin Brazeau.

Unless a trade occurs or a player is acquired late in the season, it’s an opportunity for someone to seize during training camp.
