Motorcyclist and passenger walked away from Highway 401 crash with serious injuries: OPP

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are searching for two injured people who fled after a collision on Highway 401 on Thursday afternoon, and are concerned for their welfare.

OPP reported that a motorcycle and a car collided in the westbound lanes of the highway near Westney Road in Ajax at 12:20 p.m.

The male motorcyclist and female passenger are said to have suffered “serious injuries” and left the scene of the accident.

According to OPP, the two individuals were last seen driving north on Westney Road from Highway 401.

The man is described as white, approximately 5’8″ to 5’10” tall, with a black beard and brown hair. The woman is believed to be white, 5’6″ to 5’5″ tall, with blond hair in a ponytail.

According to the police, the two may be French-speaking.

“If you encounter a male or female, encourage them to seek medical attention,” OPP said.

The cause of the collision is unknown.
