The Orioles offense gave Rodriguez two runs to work with in the top of the second. In the bottom half of the inning, Rodriguez tied the Blue Jays 1-2-3 with three straight strikeouts.

To lead off the third inning, Blue Jays’ Addison Barger hit a home run to right field. Rodriguez bounced back to get Brian Serven on strikes. Springer singled to left field, but Rodriguez got Loperfido and Guerrero Jr. on strikes to end the inning.

In the fifth inning, Springer led off with a double to right field. Rodriguez had Loperfido ground out to first on the first out, but that also put Springer on third. Rodriguez came out for the sixth inning and got Ernie Clement to ground out to short for the first out of the inning. Rodriguez walked Varsho before striking out Schneider. Another walk was given to Addison Barger to put two on with two outs. Rodriguez’s wild pitch brought both runners up 90 feet before Serven reached on a fielding error, allowing Varsho to come in and score. Rodriguez got Springer to fly out to right to end the inning.
