Canadiens select Owen Protz at 102nd overall

After drafting four straight forwards to begin their 2024 NHL Draft, the Montreal Canadiens dove into the defense market and selected Owen Protz from the Brantford Bulldogs of the OHL.

At 6’0″ tall and 201 pounds, Protz is a defensively solid, aggressively physical defender who likes to attack opponents with bone-breaking hits. Last year in the OHL he scored 19 points in 66 games split between the Sudbury Wolves and the Brantford Bulldogs

The Habs are back to 130th overall.
