Owain Wyn Evans joins Homes Under the Hammer for 27th series

BBC One’s Homes Under the Hammer returns to the big screen this summer for its 27th season.

The new series welcomes brand new property expert Owain Wyn Evans, who joins Martin Roberts, Dion Dublin, Martel Maxwell, Jacqui Joseph and Tommy Walsh. Owain will be on screen later this year.

The programme will travel across the UK, from Canterbury to Cumbria, Aberdeen to Hampshire, all with the aim of property development.

In London; Tommy explores a one-bedroom flat that could potentially be worth a million pounds – if it’s renovated properly. Martin dons a colourful T-shirt to make up for the lack of colour in a property in Bishop’s Stortford, and Jacqui visits a riverside property that’s been modernised into a family home. Dion tackles the overgrown ivy encroaching on an end-terrace in North Wales, and Owain visits Llanelli, Swansea, Birmingham and London to meet landlords and developers who have invested in the properties for multiple housing uses.

Owain Wyn Evans says: “What can I say, I love transformations! I’ve renovated several homes over the years and have never been afraid to get my hands dirty. I love getting inspiration from others and seeing the before and after images really makes this a dream job for me. I’ve been watching Homes Under the Hammer for years and it’s such an iconic show. Now give me a sturdy boot and a hard hat, I can’t wait to discover more amazing home transformations with the team!”

Muslim Alim, Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime, said: “Homes Under The Hammer is a cornerstone of the BBC Daytime programme. It captivates audiences with its mix of property investment and creative renovation, caters to all budgets and offers invaluable tips, tricks and expert advice for every viewer. Owain has a real passion for home transformation and a natural warmth, which is the perfect combination for the Homes Under The Hammer audience. We are delighted to welcome him to our exceptional team of presenters and I am confident he will bring a fresh dynamic to the show that our viewers will love.”

Homes Under the Hammer is commissioned by Muslim Alim, Commissioning Editor for BBC Daytime and Early Peak. The series is a Lion Television Scotland production. Executive producers are Lisa Hazlehurst, Head of Lion Television Scotland, and Mat Marsters, with Sam Postlethwaite as Series Producer.
