Police have issued a fresh appeal for information following the shooting death of a 15-year-old boy in west London last week.

Rene Graham was murdered at approximately 7.20pm on Sunday 21 July in Emslie Horniman’s Pleasance Park in Ladbroke Grove, west London.

Four men – two aged 21 and the others aged 20 and 25 – who were arrested on suspicion of murder have now been released on bail pending further inquiries, the Metropolitan Police said.

There is still a crime scene.

At the time of the attack, an estimated 1,000 people were attending the annual Park Lime event, organized by the Caribbean Music Association. The event was billed as a “family day” with live music, games and face painting.

Detective Chief Inspector Christina Jessah said: “One week after the terrible shooting that took place in Ladbroke Grove, our thoughts are with Rene’s family and friends at this devastating time.

“We continue to work with our partners to provide them with the support they deserve.

“As part of our investigation, we would like to speak to any other witnesses who were in the area at the time of the shooting, or who took photographs or filmed the event.

“Any footage can give officers a better picture of the area and the events that led up to the terrible incident that occurred. I ask you to check if you have anything captured that can assist investigators.

“Tragic incidents like this remind us how important it is that we continue to focus relentlessly on combating gun violence and apprehending the perpetrators who pose a danger to our communities.”

Father Damian Ryan, 43, a priest at a church near the park, estimated more than 1,000 people attended the event, with crowds spilling into nearby streets.

He said: “A few months ago there was a murder. A few hundred metres away someone was murdered.

“I’ve only been here two years, but other parishioners and people in the community say this isn’t completely out of the ordinary.”
