Leslieville shooting suspect arrested in Kawartha Lakes

A suspect wanted in connection with the Leslieville shooting that left a man in critical condition earlier this month has been arrested in the Kawartha Lakes region.

On July 7, at approximately 2:55 p.m., gunfire rang out at an apartment building near Queen Street East and Booth Avenue.

Officers arrived on scene and found a man with life-threatening injuries. They said a suspect fled the area on an electric scooter.

An arrest warrant was subsequently issued for Moulay Adam Daniels, 24, of Toronto. Police said Daniels was wanted for attempted murder; discharging a firearm with intent; aggravated assault; unauthorized possession of a firearm; possession of a loaded, prohibited or restricted firearm; and four counts of possession of a firearm in violation of a prohibition order.

Police said Tuesday that Daniels was arrested July 22 about a two-hour drive northeast of Toronto. They said he was taken into custody by Kawartha Lakes police on a warrant after he interacted with officers “on an unrelated matter.”

Police are asking anyone with information about the case to contact detectives.
