Bodies of 2 women found in Vancouver’s English Bay, 28 hours apart

Police are investigating the discovery of the bodies of two women, less than 30 hours apart, on the beaches of Vancouver’s English Bay.

According to the Vancouver Police Department (VPD), the first woman was found on Sunset Beach around 10 a.m. on Sunday.

About 28 hours later, at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, the second woman was found on the shoreline near the Kitsilano Yacht Club.

The two locations are approximately two kilometers apart.

The cause of death of both women has not yet been determined and investigators do not yet know whether their deaths were the result of a crime.

According to the VPD, neither victim has been identified.

“Detectives from the VPD’s Major Crimes Department and Forensic Identification Unit are currently working in the area, along with uniformed patrol officers, to collect evidence,” the VPD said.

“Municipalities will likely see more police in the area as the investigation progresses.”

Anyone with information that could assist investigators in this investigation is urged to contact the VPD’s Major Crimes Unit at 604-717-2500.
