Last week it was reported that Baffin had been fighting with his fellow bear, eight-year-old Siku, before he was found dead.

Baffin and Siku were transferred from the Assiniboine Park Zoo in Winnipeg to Calgary in 2023.

They were moved to a new polar bear habitat in a redeveloped area of the Calgary Zoo called Wild Canada, which opened in December.
