Sky Sports’ Formula 1 pit lane reporter Ted Kravitz has taken a not-so-subtle dig at Red Bull and three-time champion Max Verstappen following the events at the Hungarian Grand Prix.

After a difficult start at the HungaroringVerstappen struggled to keep up with the pace of the leading McLarens in Budapest, leaving him to battle with Lewis Hamilton for the third and final podium spot.

On lap 63, with Hamilton in third place, Verstappen, aided by DRS on the straight, steered his car into the first corner on the inside, braking extremely late and locking up.

While he was doing this, his left rear tire collided with Hamilton’s right front tire, sending Verstappen flying for a moment before the three-time champion drove off the track in a straight line.

Neither driver suffered race-ending damage as a result, Hamilton takes third place and Verstappen has to settle for P5.

Of course the collision was investigated by the FIA. However, the race stewards decided that No further action was required as it was determined that neither driver was primarily at fault. before the incident.

Kravitz indicated during a live broadcast on ‘Ted’s Notebook’, prior to the announcement of that decision, that he was certain who was to blame for the fact that the two got together. However, he also lashed out at Verstappen and his team during the broadcast.

“First of all they call it a racing incident, which is what Red Bull does if it is Max Verstappen’s fault,” Kravitz said live on Sky Sports.

“But everyone else blames Max Verstappen for the last part, that he braked himself, and that he would have gone straight on if Lewis had not steered in.

“Lewis was steering, well, Lewis wasn’t steering, he was there, and then Max went over the top.”

It is the second time that Verstappen has met an F1 rival in three races. the Dutchman’s collision with Lando Norris during the Austrian Grand Prix.

As in Budapest, Verstappen’s team in Austria claimed he was not at fault for the incident, despite receiving a penalty from the FIA.
