Fatal motorcycle crash at Sunbury Cross near M3: one dead, one seriously injured

A fatal motorbike crash in Sunbury Cross blocked a link road to the M3 for more than 24 hours. The collision near the west London-Surrey border happened on the A316 southern link road to the M3 at around 00.52am on Monday (July 22).

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service rushed to the scene but a man in his 20s was pronounced dead. A second man in his 20s was taken to hospital in a serious condition. Surrey Police have not confirmed whether the victim who died or the second man was on the motorbike involved in the crash.




The A316 southbound junction at J1 of the M3 was closed for several hours and police said it would remain closed until around 7am on Monday (July 22). A Surrey Police spokesman said: “We are now urgently appealing for anyone with information that could assist our investigation. We are particularly interested in tracing the movements of a black, scrambler-style motorcycle.
