Baby Gourmet Foods Organic Baby Food Recalled

CALGARY-

A certain brand of baby food is being pulled from all physical and online stores in Canada due to possible Cronobacter contamination.

Calgary-based Baby Gourmet Foods has issued a recall of its Banana Raisin Oatmeal Organic Whole Grain Cereal, which is sold in 8-ounce packages.

The bacteria can cause serious or fatal infections in the bloodstream, central nervous system and intestines.

According to the Canadian Food and Drug Administration (CAS), the recall is a result of the agency’s testing results.

The company says the recall does not involve any other Baby Gourmet or Little Gourmet products and that no incidents related to the product have been reported to date.

It says anyone who bought the cereal should throw it away immediately or return it to the store where they bought it.
