London’s ‘haunted’ Underground station where worker claims to have heard something terrifying from an empty lift

The London Underground, with its 161-year history, is no stranger to spooky stories and alleged ghostly encounters. The abandoned stations at night can often feel like the setting of a horror film, with echoes of the past lurking in the shadows.

One such chilling incident took place at the Bank metro station, as shared by TikTok account @ghosthunspod. An employee, who had worked at the station for around 35 years, claimed that he had experienced something truly disturbing one night.

While working the night shift, the worker began his routine of closing the doors after the last train had left. While he patrolled the station to make sure it was empty, he checked the elevators for any remaining passengers.

When he was satisfied that the elevator was empty, he closed the elevator doors, but a terrifying sound was heard.

When he opened the doors again to check the emptiness of the elevator, he closed them again and locked them. As he walked away, he claimed that there was a terrifying knocking sound from the elevator, as if someone was trapped inside.

Bank Underground isn’t the only station on the network to have some incredibly creepy experiences. Staff at Liverpool Street station, for example, have reported seeing strange figures appear on CCTV footage throughout the station, while passengers themselves have reportedly seen a man walking up and down the platforms in the middle of the night.
