Lane restrictions remain in effect on College Drive, Saskatoon

The water plant maintenance and replacement project is the next phase of construction on College Drive.

SASKATOON — Lane restrictions between Wiggins and Cumberland Avenues will remain in effect beginning Sunday, July 21 for the next construction phase of the College Drive Water Plant Maintenance and Replacement Project.

The current construction zone will be evacuated Sunday and a new zone will be created further east between Wiggins and Cumberland. Two-way traffic will remain in the construction zone, with two lanes for westbound traffic and one for eastbound traffic.

Eastbound traffic will transition to the westbound center lane, while westbound traffic will not be able to turn left onto Wiggins Avenue during this phase. Pedestrians may be diverted to cross College Drive at alternate locations.

If work impacts Saskatoon Transit, third-party apps such as Transit and Google Maps Transit will provide service alerts and real-time bus information.

The College Drive Water Plant Maintenance and Replacement Project began in May and is expected to be completed in October. While most of the work is water plant maintenance, there are replacements needed at this location.

Work zones are marked with orange signs and cones. Drivers should slow down, pay attention, and watch for workers. If merging is necessary, use all available lanes to the merging point. Then take turns driving through the work zone.
