F1 Hungarian Grand Prix practice results today: Hamilton struggles as Verstappen outpaced by rivals

On a sunny afternoon at the Hungaroring, the drivers and teams prepared for qualifying with their final lap in FP3, in which they again showed interesting times.

Max Verstappen had set the second-fastest time in both sessions on Friday and was again close to the top of the timesheet on Saturday, but was comfortably beaten by a pair of flying McLarens.

Charles Leclerc’s dramatic crash from FP2 was not repeated. The session was relatively calm, with no virtual safety cars or red flags. Lewis Hamilton did cause a brief yellow flag when he spun in the same place as his 2025 teammate.

A number of drivers struggled with braking in the first corner, locking up and running a bit too wide, with Pierre Gasly’s Alpine in particular causing a lot of flat spots.
