British Columbia Real Estate for Sale: $3.5 Million Off-the-Grid Oceanfront Retreat

British Columbia Real Estate for Sale: .5 Million Off-the-Grid Oceanfront Retreat

For anyone who has saved enough to buy a home in Vancouver but has had enough of city life, the exact opposite is happening in the British Columbia housing market right now.

Flynn’s Cove Resort is a remote wilderness resort that is as far west as you can go in Canada. It is located on Nootka Island off the west coast of Vancouver Island and is for sale for $3.5 million.

Although it is remote and off-the-grid, it is not too difficult to get to, as boats can be rented from the towns of Tahsis or Zeballos on Vancouver Island to get to Flynn’s Cove, although anyone who buys the resort will want to invest in their own boat. Local airline Nootka Air also lands at Flynn’s Cove wharf.

Visitors to the resort often explore Esprenza Inlet and the surrounding area by kayak or fish. Local residents include sea lions, bears and whales.

The property itself has a main house with four cabins nearby (each sleeping a minimum of four). The property also has access to (and 1,700 feet of lakefront) Owossitsa Lake, which has its own islands to explore and offers a second spot for planes to land.

In addition to the accommodation, there are also a number of workshops and sheds to keep the place in good condition.

The entire site is self-sufficient and has its own electricity, sewage and water systems.

For the same price as Flynn’s Cove, there are several homes available in Vancouver, including a townhome in Yaletown, a four-bedroom house in West Point Grey, and a convertible in Dunbar.
