Zeke Thurston of Big Valley, Alberta, takes first place in Pool A at Saddle Bronc.

Thurston, a longtime favorite at the Calgary Stampede, took first place on Sunday with a run of 88.50.

He won daily money and is also in first place in the overall standings, but Millarville’s Layton Green is also hoping to earn some daily money soon.

Here are the latest times and scoring highlights from day three, followed by their overall standings in Pool A. Pool B kicks off this afternoon at 1:30pm.

Saddle Bronc:

Zeke Thurston finished in first place and Layton Green in fourth place.

Without saddle:

1) Leighton Berry (Texas) – 85.50

Leighton Berry finished in first place, with Dantan Bertsch (Ponoka, AB) and Clint Laye (Cadogan, AB) in ninth.

Bull riding:

1) Wyatt Gleeson (Sundre, AB) – 86.50

Total 3 days:

Nick Tetz (Calgary, AB) finished in 1st place, despite being thrown off on Sunday. Wyatt Gleeson moved into a tie for 2nd, with Ashton Sahli of Red Deer in a tie for 5th, with Edgar Durazo of Mexico with ties to High River, AB finishing in 7th.

Tying with rope:

1) Shad Mayfield (New Mexico) – 6.4

Total 3 days:

Tuf Cooper is the man to beat in first place, Logan Bird from Nanton was third, Shane Smith (Wimborne, AB) is tied for fifth and Kyle Lucas was seventh.

Wrestling with bulls:

1) Jacob Talley (Louisiana) – 4.5

Dalton Massey (Oregon) is in first place, Stephen Culling (Fort St John, BC) is in second place and Scott Guenthner (Provost, AB) is in fourth place.

Women’s Barrel Racing:

1) Emily Beisel (Oklahoma) – 17,100

Ashley Castelberry (Texas) is in first place, Taylor Manning (Yellowhead County, AB) is in fourth place and Bailey Smith (Marwayne, AB) finished in tenth place.
