Ottawa Senators’ Brady Tkachuk, Tim Stutzle injured vs. Montreal Canadiens

The Ottawa Senators announced that forwards Brady Tkachuk and Tim Stutzle both left Tuesday’s preseason game against the Montreal Canadiens due to upper-body injuries.

Stutzle took a big hit from Canadian defenseman Arber Xhekaj midway through the second period to give Montreal a 2-0 lead. Stutzle was skating into the offensive zone when Xhekaj hit him high, sending him flying. He suffered a cut on his nose, while Xhekaj was given a major five-minute penalty and sent off from the match.

The Senators scored three goals in the five-minute power play to take a 3-2 lead.

Tkachuk was given a two-minute penalty for harassing Xhekaj after the goal on Stutzle. He played 8:15 minutes with zero points.
